Ingredients (servings 4-6):
Empty the contents of the can into a bowl of luke warm water. soak for 10 minutes and drain. Bring 8 cups of water to a boil in a large pot. Add rice and salt to the water and boil for about 10 minutes stirring once or twice, drain and rinse with cold water. Heat oil and 1/3 cup of water along with saffron in a non-stick pan and fill it with alternate layers of rice and herbs starting with rice. Pour 1/2 cup of melted butter (optional) and 1/4 cup of water over the mixture, cover tightly with lid. Steam over medium low heat for 30 to 45 minutes. Serve with fish or poultry.
